SAN DIEGO -- Last night was the “preview” night of Robin Tyler’s “Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Groom” at Diversionary Theater in University Heights.
I’ve known Robin (and her wife, Diane Olson) since the early ‘90s when I was one of her team of coordinators who helped produce her wildly popular West Coast Women’s Music and Comedy Festival (WCWMCF) in Yosemite. There were several of us "coordinators" in the audience last night, which made it even more nostalgic.

Designer & goldsmith Benée Rubin, and legendary diamond cutter Sir Gabriel Tolkowsky are all smiles at the 2009 JCK Las Vegas Show.He donated four of his legendary Gabrielle* diamonds, to be used with Benée's Mother and child, and Father and child interlocking necklaces ,to raise money for Canuck Place Children's Hospice.
Splendor: A Celebration of Jewelry Designers
Today we're walking along the beaches of the Spanish Banks in Vancouver, Canada. This strip of beaches, named for explorers José Maria Narvaez and Juan Carrasco, houses sandy volleyball courts while grassy fields separate the sands for picnics. Steely lifeguards keep somber watch as skimboarders ride the low tides. Canada is also home to jewelry designer, Benée Rubin.
