Canuck Place Family Day a Fantastic Success

In the Family Fun & Activities Zone, guests expressed their creative side by making candles, flower frames, hand prints, and pages for the 15th Anniversary Memory Book. Families also enjoyed a mall style photo booth, a rose art exhibition, quiet time in a storyteller tent, and bubble, balloon and face painting artists.

Memory Lane took guests on a journey through Canuck Place's first 15 years of existence.  The display of memorabilia and photo archives celebrated the past and featured Canuck Place families, founders, staff and volunteers.  Guests remembered loved ones by contributing to an honouring arch and time capsule, mapped out their family history and created new, lasting memories of these shared experiences.

After working up an appetite at various interactive stations, everyone enjoyed a delicious barbecue picnic lunch prepared by the Canuck Place kitchen team with food courtesy of MarketPlace IGA. Also available were fresh salads and corn on the cob prepared by Anducci's Italian Kitchen and a treat station hosted by The Pan Pacific Vancouver.

During the day, guests enjoyed the soothing music of an Instrumental Trio on the Main Stage playing jazz, R&B and reggae. A particular highlight of the afternoon was hearing songs performed by Canuck Place children, including 'Home Away From Home' that was written at this year's Teen Camp, backed by the Universal Gospel Choir and led by Kathryn Nicholson. 

At the conclusion of Family Day, each CP family in attendance was presented with a 'Canuck Place' rose bush specially grown by Pan American Nursery to mark our 15th Anniversary.

Family day was a wonderful celebration, enjoyed by many whose lives have been touched by Canuck Place over the last 15 years.
