Jewelry In Space Aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour
We were commissioned to make one of our Lasting Harmony Mandala necklaces for an American couple, named Christian and Adele. They wanted to make their unique necklaces even more special by sending them into space aboard the space shuttle! We asked them to write their story to post on our website and share with everyone. Here is what they wrote, along with photos of the Mandala necklace and its NASA certfication, signed by the Mission Specialist 4, EV3, LTC Shane Kimbrough.
We gave the necklace to the shuttle crew already. I believe the flight number is STS-126. Adele works in the EVA (extravehicular activities) department at NASA as a trainer for the astronauts. She trains them as to how to use the space suits, which also have a technical name I'm not familiar with. (Sorry, I'm a cancer researcher, so I don't know much about NASA acronyms :)![]()
